In the Washington PA area here are the directions: Rt 70 take the Claysville Exit and turn right onto Rt 40 East. Approximately 6 3 /4 mile turn Right onto Rt 231S. Go 3 miles to Ranch Road. Large wooden sign for SGL Range turn Right down dirt road one mile to range on left, parking lot on right.
In the Pittsburgh PA area here are the directions: From I 79 take Wexford Exit. Go East on Rt 910 get into left lane, pass Boron Gas Station 500 ft turn Left onto Mingo Road. Go .8 miles on Mingo Road and turn Left onto State Game Land Road. Game lands ahead 1 mile on both sides, Range driveway is on the right. Large wooden sign at range entrance. From Rt 8 in Gibsonia, take Rt 910 West for 8.6 miles to Mingo Road. Turn Right onto Mingo Road. Go .8 miles on Mingo Road and turn Left onto State Game Land Road. Game lands ahead 1 mile on both sides, Range driveway is on the right. Large wooden sign at range entrance.

I love your store. Whenever I’m visiting family in Pittsburgh I shoot down to Washington to see what’s new. You have the largest selection of firearms I’ve ever seen. Your prices are very fair too. I wish you would open a store where I now live.
Love your store but I got pretty lost trying to follow your directions to SGL 245. There is no Exit 2 on what I’m guessing is I-70 as there is also no Rt 70. Rt 40 is easy enough to find, but it runs right alongside I-70 at exits 1 and 6, crosses it at exit 15 and crosses it again at exit 33 south of where 70 and 79 split. (I followed it from exit 15 in Washington clear out to Beallsville…) The state gamelands map for SGL 245 is a topological map that doesn’t help as the only marked highway on that map is SR231.
Although I did not find it today, I figured it out once I got home. It looks like the I-70 exit to take is PA Exit 6, which is Claysville. Coming from the east, turn right at the exit (that’s North on Old National Pike) and right again in a fifty yards or so, which is 40. 3/4 of a mile on the right, you will find SR 231, which is E Findlay Road. 3.1 miles down E. Findlay Rd, you will turn right on Ranch Road. From the gamelands map the range looks to be about 1.4 miles down Ranch road.
To the guys at Ace, I appreciate your providing directions even though I was unable to follow them. My intention here is only to avoid having others burn a tank of gas looking for the range. To Ace’s credit, the folks working in the firearms departments at Dicks, Gander Mountain end even Cabalas had no clue where the range was. I know because I stopped in and asked at each of these places. They could not beat your prices, either!
Sorry about that Skip. The directions are directly off the Pennsylvania State Game Land’s web page. I copied and pasted them, I assumed they would be right. I will see if we can rewrite them. Does anyone know better directions?

Just so everyone is clear that the SGL245 range in Claysville, PA is rifle only. There are no pistols allowed. With that said the only SG pistol range is Wexford.
Too bad there aren’t ranges closer to the Washington, PA area that aren’t private or clubs I know a lot of folks who would use them.
